Rules you can explain to your child
Choose the apps and times you want to limit together. A restriction, a daily allowance and a schedule do different jobs: you can pause access, cap time spent or reserve certain hours for other activities.
Android and iPhone use different controls
On Android, select apps by name in the parent app, set per-app limits and view reported usage. On iPhone, make the app selection on the child’s phone first; the parent controls restrictions and time rules for that selection. Geopapa does not show the parent the names or per-app usage of the child’s iPhone apps.
| Child’s phone | App selection | Usage information |
|---|---|---|
| Android | By name in the parent app | Reported time per app |
| iPhone | On the child’s phone during setup | No app names or per-app usage in the parent app |
Setup differs on Android and iPhone. Check the controls available in your version and set them up together on your child’s phone.
Daily limits and schedules
A daily limit sets a time allowance. A schedule restricts access during chosen periods, for example during lessons or at bedtime. On Android you can choose apps for a schedule; on iPhone it applies to the selection configured on the child’s phone.
Set up both phones together
Connect the child’s companion app, open the app controls and follow the permission prompts on the child’s phone. On iPhone, select the apps there too. Save a simple rule and check together that it takes effect.
If a restriction does not take effect
Check that both apps are updated, the child’s phone has received the saved rule and the required permissions are still enabled. New remote changes need connectivity. Review the available controls on the child’s device before subscribing.
