Who each app is built for
Life360 is a circle: every member installs the same app and shares location with everyone else. That works well when adults, teens and grandparents all want to see each other, and when driving reports matter. Geopapa is a parent-to-child connection. You install the parent app, your child gets a companion app, and you see your child rather than a map of every adult in the family.
Setup and roles
In Life360, members join a circle with an invite code and use one app. In Geopapa, the parent app shows a connection code, you install Geopapa Kids or Funfriend on your child’s phone, enter the code and go through the permissions together. A second parent can be connected to the same child. Parents do not track each other.
Location, history and place alerts
Both apps show the latest reported location and a route history, and both send alerts when someone arrives at or leaves a saved place. Life360’s free membership limits history and the number of places, with longer history in paid tiers. In Geopapa, location history and arrival or departure alerts for saved places are core tools; what is included in your plan is shown in the app. On both, updates depend on the child’s permissions and connection.

Safety tools: SOS, chat and sound
Life360’s SOS help alerts, crash detection, emergency dispatch and roadside assistance are aimed at drivers and adults. Geopapa’s SOS goes from the child’s app to connected parents, without contacting emergency services. Geopapa adds a loud signal to reach a child who missed a notification, a private family chat, tasks with rewards, and, on an Android child phone with permission, the option to hear the sound around your child.
When Life360 is the better choice
If you need driving reports, crash detection, roadside assistance, Bluetooth item trackers or many adults sharing location in one circle, stay with Life360. Geopapa does not offer those. Choose Geopapa when the question is simpler: where is my child right now, did they get to school, and can they reach me.
Price and commitment
Life360 is a free app with limited history and place alerts, and paid memberships that cover the whole circle. Geopapa is free to download, with a subscription inside the app. The current offer and any trial are shown in the app before you pay, so check them there rather than relying on a number on a website.
